800G QSFP-DD800 DR8++ is designed for use in 800 Gigabit Ethernet links on up to 10km of single mode fiber.
800G QSFP-DD800 DR8++ Product Overview
The module is compliant to the latest releases of the QSFP-DD800 MSA. Firmware supports CMIS 5.0 and newer release. We offer transceivers for DR8, 2xDR4, 2xFR4 and 2xLR4 interfaces. Our vertical integration for optical engines enables leading performance and power consumption.
800G OSFP optical module includes two architecture solutions, 4x100Gx2 and 8X100G. In addition to the traditional EML design, it also adopts silicon-based solution to meet short-distance transmission needs. The products of this series comply with IEE802.3ck and OSFP MSA standards, and support CMIS4.0. Products are mainly used in 800G Ethernet, data centers and cloud networks.
The goal is to define pluggable low-cost optical modules for data center applications with short-range 800G transmission, including 8X100G and 4X200G specifications, with transmission distances including 100m, 500m, and 2km. There are currently some views in the industry that 800G transmission needs will emerge in 2021, and the market will begin to mature by 2023. Correspondingly, there is a QSFP-DD800 MSA optical module working group led by US communications giant Broadcom and Cisco to promote the standardization of 800G optical modules and related connectors in QSFP-DD format.
